Out With The Old

Lezlie’s take:

Now that husband Rick is on the mend I can focus on redoing the house. Oh, I have so many plans! Are you one of those that likes to change things around every once in a while? Or are you the type that hangs on to things forever? I had a discussion with a friend about this. She mentioned that her husband has to have the “best” of everything and they spent a small fortune on furniture. Problem is, since they spent a lot of money, now they can’t justify getting something new! I feel her pain.

Rick and I are having a “discussion” (argument is such a negative word!) about getting rid of things that are still perfectly usable. Since my mother’s passing last summer I inherited quite a few great pieces that I want to use in our home. They are old but solidly made and cherished. And, along with that I want to replace old items with new, such as our sleigh bed. Like I said, there is nothing wrong with it, but I would like something NEW. And different. And more modern.

So I’m paying the neighbor kid to help me move things in and out. Oh my gosh, I am so excited about how things are going to look! It won’t cost a huge amount of money, but just refreshing everything gives you a whole ‘nother perspective, don’t you think? The possibilities! And the fact that others can find something new for themselves (aka garage sale) is another big plus.

More on this as I move forward. You’d think this was January! Ha ha!
