All of you teachers and students! Can you believe it’s already time for school? I don’t know about you, but this summer FLEW by! It’s still so stinkin’ hot, but school is already upon us. Some are ready, most are not, I bet!
I feel lucky to teach at a community college. As I have told my students frequently, I feel that my son would have completed at least his associate’s degree if he had started at a 2 year school instead of a 4 year school, with all of its temptations. He just didn’t have the huge drive to get things done and was easily swayed to skip class and play. While I started my teaching career at the middle school level (who doesn’t know how challenging that age can be?!) I am happy to be at the college level. Kudos to all of the teachers that still have to deal with administration and parents, prepare lesson plans and deal with the everyday challenges that students bring to school!
Each year brings a new set of circumstances. This year Allison moves to 5th grade! I hope she will elaborate on the tribulations she went through to get there. She has done everything now at the elementary level except 1st. I am proud of her for willingness to try new things and challenge herself!
Good luck to all of us this year! I look forward to telling, and especially hearing, stories about school!
Essential Oil: Since starting school can be stressful, I like this blend to diffuse in the afternoons and evenings: frankincense, lavender and copaiba. Ahhh, relaxing!
